Last year around December, I passed by Magallanes flyover and was stunned by this humongous billboard of Piolo Pascual for Bench. I was never the same again whenever I pass EDSA Northbound from airport or MOA or wherever from that side. SEE THIS RELATED BLOG ENTRY.
It took some time before I was able to pass by EDSA again with this same magnitude of enthusiasm for billboards.
Traffic was heavy approaching Guadalupe. From where the MMDA office is, I swear I saw something beautiful and I just couldn't immediately place it in my random search for saved male anatomy data in my head - but, I had a feeling it would be HIM.
So, I prepped up my iPhone for what I know will be another "nag-adik-na-naman" moment.
I was right.
In all his tanned-up, gorgeous self - behold, Papa Piolo.
As traffic moves further to the MRT station, there he is again with the Timex ad. I couldn't take a nicer shot but I exerted some effort as well.
For the next few steps on the gas, I knew what to expect because I've seen the billboard while riding the MRT. That Piolo pose is also viewable in Bench stores, but I like this one because it's HUGE and it's still something I would want to get for Christmas (even if I have no spot for it in this cramped-up house we live in).
Now, who could blame me if ever I would cause traffic for staring!?
Fellow Piolo fans, do I hear you say, "Ooooh lalaaaah!"?

DC sings MJ
As a tribute to Michael Jackson, David Cook sang a snippet of Billie Jean, which he also sang during his Idol days.
In the end he commented that MJ's up there probably laughing his ass of with his rendition.
But, his jam was great (AS USUAL).

One Night with Kumares
We regularly meet up and down bottles of beer or cocktails made by Mel (that woman with the glasses in the photo hehe). Last week we decided to go to Morato.
What started as a 1-bucket-only at Gerry's Grill Alimall became a walkathon adventure along Morato.
That other woman, Minnie (leftmost) was late as usual. She had to be dressed up oh-so-revealingly that we had to taunt her to go back home and change since we don't have a car for the night and we don't want to be looking after her all the time.
We hailed a jeep to Morato from their place (past 1AM, mind you! - i think...) It was something we thought of doing just because.
Mareng Mel wanted to sing so we were keen on a videoke joint. We were on wait list at that Music Match place, but we couldn't wait any longer (since it took until 2AM before we gave up).
We marched through Morato (with my new pair of strappy heels on) and landed on this new place, Papaya Grill. There was a band way up onstage and they welcomed us as we enter. The lead singer dubbed us as Charlie's Angels and thought of us as "singles" (I know that they're just being charismatic and all).
Another bucket came out and that yummy adobong kangkong. We feasted on the veggie as we shared a cup of rice (bwehehe!)
The trio upstage were on their last set for the night. The waiters were also all set to go - and they did, after a few minutes (when they took our payment). We were left inside the garden of the bar hahaha!
We walked again with no direction until we decided to take photos with my new phone. Since I still don't know how the camera works, all our efforts went futile except that photo above.
A cab darted in front of us when we stopped and that's when we decided to call it a night.
We're going back to that bar for the kangkong hahaha!
That New Transformers Movie

New movies are shown every Wednesday here. Last week right after school, Wacx approached me with an excited tone in his voice as he delivered the news that the new Transformers movie is already showing (that was the first day of the flick in the theaters and he wanted us to go right that very moment!).
We (his daddy and I) told him we're watching on Sunday.
So, he waited patiently and come Saturday night, he was ecstatic. "Mommy, I don't want to be late for the movie, so we better be there early."
His dad wanted to go to that Globe Platinum Cinema at the Gateway Mall because of the perks (lazy boy and limitless popcorn), but the tickets have sold out. We couldn't delay it considering how Wacx has his eyes on the calendar (and clock at that!).
We settled for the ordinary moviehouses in Ali Mall. We booked for the first showing to avoid the crowd.
The movie did not disappoint us.
The effects were amazing as expected. The characters from the prequel were intact except for this new guy, Leo (Ramon Rodriguez), the lead man's college dorm-mate. Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is still lovable what with his witty lines and really animated ways. Mikaela (Megan Fox) is as gorgeous as ever.
Wacx knew the Autobots and Decepticons by names. I had to ask him who's who because I only know a few: Optimus, Megatron, Bumbleebee, Starscream, and IronHide.
The new robots were cool, too. The motorcycle lady Autobots are a nice addition, as well as the twins (the wacky duo who were with them in Egypt). The mini popsicle truck is cute haha!
Oh, we grew a tad sad when the big truck suffered and got deactivated from that encounter with his risen nemesis and his right-hand evil robot. But, we knew he will be back before the movie ends.
We particularly loved how Sam made all those funny faces and fast speeches when he started seeing the weird symbols in his head. His mom was as annoying here as she was in the first movie. This mom here had to wonder why they (Sam's parents) had to be thrown to the Egypt war scene, too. (DUH!)
That a-hole Galloway (John Hickey) (the president's liaison as he puts it) was a real pain in the *toot*, but he was really funny when Lennox (Josh Duhamel) kicked him out of the plane to perish (although he didn't).
That old Decepticon giant they revived at the museum was also a memorable character, as well as that perv-of-a-mini-robot that Mikaela caught in her machine shop. That Devastator robot is one humongous freak of a vacuum cleaner, but nothing compared to the buffed-up Prime that came out when he got energized with the oldie's power source.
As it is, Optimus Prime is a living descendant of the legendary Primes who lived during the pre-pyramid times and fought against The Fallen (that nasty, power hungry, great, great, grand dad (or something) of Megatron). This old-timer wanted to squeeze the life out of our sun so they can harness all its powers for the survival of their race - and of course, for his own selfish motives.
It is amusing that the robots have feelings. Bumblebee was sad and depressed about Sam's leaving home for college (he even cried). Optimus cares about the human race. The Fallen despises the "wretched" planet. It is even more amusing that these robots age in time, too!
Anyway, the good ones prevail once more in the end, and the evil ones have retreated (with Starscream saying something about being better to be cowards in order to survive).
"There's going to be a third one soon, Mommy," Wacx jolted. I think he's right.
